Starting August 1, 2026, the free version will become Puppet Pals: Creative Club, with limits geared toward individual and personal use. Core features remain free, with an optional subscription for AI-styled characters and online sharing.

Is School Edition a subscription?
No. School Edition is a one-time purchase. Buy it once, use it forever. No recurring fees, no in-app purchases, no surprises on your school’s credit card.
How do I get School Edition for my school?
School Edition is available through Apple School Manager or directly on the App Store. Your IT department can deploy it to managed devices. We’ve put together a step-by-step setup guide with everything you need, including a ready-to-send message for your IT department.
What if my school can’t purchase right away?
We recommend starting the conversation with your IT department or administration now—the free version continues to work as it always has until August 1. Our setup guide includes a ready-to-send message you can forward to your IT team to get the ball rolling.
Why are you making these changes?
The free version of Puppet Pals has been downloaded over 17 million times since 2010, but fewer than 1% of users have ever paid anything for it. As a small, independent studio, that makes it hard to keep the lights on and keep improving the tools your students love. School Edition lets us sustain development while giving classrooms a product built specifically for them.
