A little bit of history

Doodle Golf first shipped on the iPhone in 2009 — back when the App Store was new and pencil-on-paper games felt like a small joke about what mobile could be. It was simple, charming, and one of our favorite things we’d ever made.

Sixteen years later we’ve rebuilt it from scratch for modern devices — same 480×320 logical canvas, same graphite-on-notebook feel, brand-new daily mode. Every day, everyone gets the same hole.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. Doodle Golf is a free download. The daily hole, your stats, and sharing are all included with no subscription.

Do I need an account?

No. Your scores and streaks are stored on your device. We don’t track who you are.

How does the shared score thing work?

When you finish a daily, the app sends just your stroke count to our server — no name, no device ID, nothing else. We add it to the bucket for that day so everyone sees how their score compares to the cohort.

Can I share my score?

Yes — the share button copies a little Wordle-style text block with a link back to today’s hole. Friends with the app installed tap the link and land on the same challenge. Friends without the app see a web preview.
